There were events and a race on the weekend we visited the park. There were other people taking pictures. Very nice scenery and a great place for a walk.

Free elevator ride up to the Observation Deck of the Sun Sphere - if you get a a sunny, clear day you’ll have a great view of the city!

I live a block away and have NEVER seen a homeless person here. Having lived in NYC where the parks are very well maintained I was impressed. Plenty of grassy areas to relax in on a nice day.

Bring a change of clothes and a towel on a hot summer day and play in the fountain. It has the effect of making you feel like a kid again. Bring a chair to if you want to sit in the shade, or blanket.
