天守の真南に位置する桜門。桜門は寛永3年(1626)に徳川時代に創建されたが、慶應4年の明治維新の大火により焼失し、明治20年に再建されたもの。その名は近くに桜並木があったことから由来しています。門の直ぐの内側に立っている桜も見事でした。
