What an amazingly historical basement pub, tucked underneath the approach to the castle. Lovely staff, front garden, local food and selection of ales. My first and still favourite pub in Lancaster!

Make sure that you get what you order. It seems that the cook does not understand the concepts of 'seared' and 'sautéed'. Not very tasty... I'll avoid the place in the future.
