Contains the best preserved Roman heating system in Britain. Fort originally guarded Dere Street. Short drive from Bishop Auckland town centre.

It's tricky to find. Brown Tourism signs disappear. If you approach from Binchester Village side it is easy to miss the entrance!! Well hidden!
