The kiosk is known as "Carl's Tea Hut". Carl has worked here since the 70's. Opening hours are 9am (approx!) to 5pm each day except Mondays.

The "Pillow Mounds" in the field to the west of the kiosk are archaeological evidence that rabbit breeding took place here. You can see them clearly on the satellite map on Google Earth

Plenty of parking. Some works completed in the Spring of 2012 have more than doubled the size of the car park

Beautiful walks nearby. Check out the Field Centre and "Loughton Camp", an Iron Age fort where legendary highwayman Dick Turpin hid out and where Boudica may have camped

Bike heaven (pedal variety). On weekends it's packed with road & mountain bikers. The hairy motorbikers hang out in the "lower" kiosk lower down on Cross Roads, just above the Robin Hood Roundabout
