The space remains as Tucson’s oldest mall.

This sign was removed and put in storage. The mall was purchased/revamped in 2014 by Stan Kroenke, owner of sports teams, including LA Rams. After the renovation, this original sign was reinstalled.

With over 100 stores, including many big name merchants, there was even an El Con Cocktail Lounge. Owned by the same family for decades, by the 2000s it had lost tenants and had become a ghost mall.

The first mall in Tucson, El Con Mall, opened in 1960 with this sign. It was adjacent to the El Conquistador Hotel, which was demolished in 1968, hence the name.

I'm sad this place is now just a mega strip mall.

Literally the oldest, most run down, crappy mall in Tucson. Go for In-N-Out, the theater or Target. Park place isn't too far and much better.
