Go tidepooling when the tide it out (consult tide table or get free guide at islands and oceans museum). The museum offers todrpool tours too. We saw octopus, Xmas Anemone, etc,

A magical place at low tide: small tidepools teeming with life, the smell of fresh surf, framed by amazing mountain and ocean views.
