Make sure that you'd buy fish close to a New Moon. No moon means cheaper fish. Cashew nuts are best bought during summer.

You can fly back with a box of fresh fish priced at about half what you would pay in Manila (e.g. Php140/kilo of marlin). They provide packing service: box + newspapers + plastic bag + ice + tape.
