These ferry boats seem super old and not comfortable and have no amenities + the price is pretty high ($16+ roundtrip for the mail-boat run, which stops at almost every island)!!

This is the gateway to the beautiful islands off the coast of Maine. It gets crowded between June and September so booking a private water taxi may be a better choice if you desire more privacy.
