If you are travelling in an express train to Egmore get down here & get on the local train coz most of the time local trains are faster unless you have to go to Egmore

If you are staying in north chennai , perambur is the best station to get down if you want to avoid the delays , crowds and traffic jams of chennai central. All major trains stop here :)
